Prof. Khavinson has been a world-renowned scientist in the field of biogerontology, especially in the development of peptide to counter and bioregulate the ageing process for several decades. His numerous publications have made of him a well-recognized and unique specialist of peptide bioregulation. He is the author of 194 Russian and International patents.
Since 40 years, Prof. Khavinson has been engaged in studying the role of peptides in the regulation of ageing mechanisms.
He designed preclinical and clinical studies to test new peptide geroprotectors with success. Prof. Khavinson founded the Institute of Bioregulation and Gerontology in St Petersburg, an internationally recognized center by the United Nations and the International Association of Gerontology and Geriatrics. Prof. Khavinson is the author of over 700 scientific publications, however, the major achievements are summarized in his books “Peptides and Ageing” (NEL, 2002) and “Gerontological aspects of genome peptide regulation” (Karger AG, 2005).
Dr Sickenberg is an ophthalmologist and surgeon, specialised in the treatment of low vision. Within his private practice in Lausanne Switzerland, he has been conducting research on peptide bioregulation of degenerative conditions with successful results in the improvement of the vision. He has been one of the pioneers in prescribing Avastin to treat age-related macular degeneration. He is also concerned about preventing age-related eye condtions and supports peptide supplements as an enhancer of eye health.
